Bradley Banana and the Jolly Good Pirate is the first in publication in a series of 20 children’s picture books from “The Spirit-in-Nature Essences Storybook Collection for Little Blossoms of All Ages.” In this tale, an ordinary day becomes an extraordinary adventure — and the quality of humility rooted in calmness comes to life in a little boy named Bradley Banana. When he meets up with the pompous pirate, Captain Clumpalong, will he end up being forced to walk the plank? Richly illustrated by Chitra Sudhakaran, this book will delight parents and children alike.

  • These beautifully illustrated books are a charming way to share positive character qualities with children of six years and older.
  • Much like an affirmation repeated before sleep when the subconscious mind is highly receptive to positive thoughts, these books make excellent bedtime stories.
  • Bradley Banana can either supplement your child’s flower essence program, or be enjoyed separately, accompanied by the audio book-companion CD.

About the Author and Illustrator

Lila Devi’s (lee-lah day-vees) writing career began in the fifth grade with metaphysical poetry that she filed secretly under the neatly folded socks in her bottom dresser drawer. Admittedly, while growing up, some of her best friends were books. Lila founded Spirit-in-Nature Essences in 1977, and authored The Essential Flower Essence Handbook and Flower Essences for Animals, both published in several languages. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Michigan, with a double major in English and psychology and a secondary teaching certificate. Ananda Village, located near Nevada City, California, is her home.

Chitra Sudhakaran is a native of India. Her illustrations and book covers are rich in originality, divergent thinking, innovative style, and spacial organization. In 2003, she received the Balashree Award in Creative Arts from the president of India. Her paintings have been exhibited in the Calicut Press Club and the Kerala Academy of Fine Arts. Chitra’s name, in traditional Hindi, means “picture” or “drawing.”
